Among the performers at the presidential inaugural were Sjava and Makhadzi.

Among the performers during Nelson Mandela’s 1994 presidential inauguration were rappers Prophets of Prophets of Da City, composer Ustadravi Isseri, and Abdullah Ibrahim.

Sjava, Makhadzi will formally introduce President Cyril Ramaphosa to a second term in the Union Buildings, exactly thirty years later.

Zoë Modiga, Vicky Sampson, Nothembi Mkhwebane, a traditional singer, and Lebo Sekgobela, a gospel performer, are among the other artists performing.

“To officially begin the President’s term of office, a ceremonial ceremony known as the inauguration is held. In a statement released by the government, it was said that the Chief Justice would administer the oath of office to the President-elect during the inauguration.

Following that, the President-elect will sign the swearing-in certificate during the event at the Union Buildings, which will be witnessed by a number of heads of state and government, notable individuals, and South Africans.

Thirty Years of Democracy in SA
The inauguration, with the theme “30 Years of Democracy; Partnership and Growth,” is scheduled for this Wednesday, three days following Tshwane’s Youth Day.

The administration claims that this year’s inauguration’s theme emphasises how everyone can contribute to creating a better tomorrow.

“It emphasises the need for us to build on our successes and use our experiences to develop solutions to eliminate or significantly reduce unemployment, inequality, and poverty.”

Road closure
Residents and drivers are advised to prepare for road closures.

To keep an eye on all impacted streets, the Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD) and other law enforcement organisations will be sent in.

The Pieter Delport Centre, located at 770 Government Avenue in Eastcliff, is where residents of the streets affected by the closures should pick up their permits, according to a Tshwane Metro advisory.

To witness Ramaphosa’s inauguration, the public and invited visitors are welcome to park their cars at Rietondale Park and take the bus to the Union Buildings, according to the TMPD.

Except for homeowners with permits, there will be no private automobile access to the Union Buildings in the vicinity of the event. The shuttles will start running at 3 a.m. and 6.30 a.m.
