“She led with dedication,” says Naledi Pandor’s proud daughter as she announces her retirement.

Aisha, the daughter of Naledi Pandor, has written a touching farewell note for her mother as she retires from her position as minister of international relations cooperation. It’s a sincere remembrance of a bygone period.

Pandor held a number of ministerial positions, including that of international relations, which is currently held by Ronald Lamola, the recently elected minister.

Aisha talked about her mother’s extraordinary journey and her decades-long dedication to public service.

“My mother has always been an activist and member of the African National Congress (ANC). For the most of my life, I happily celebrated January 8th with other family members or friends, while my parents catered the celebration. I share my birthday with the ANC,” the writer added.

Aisha emphasised her mother’s capacity for leadership, her indomitable work ethic, and her steadfast dedication to social justice.

She has been a part of the democratic government of South Africa since I was approximately nine years old.

“She has led with devotion, integrity, intelligence, wisdom, love for her country, and a focus on values held high by her religion, upbringing, country, and party throughout those three decades.”

“A very appreciative and proud daughter,” said Aisha Pandor.
Aisha continued her long message by expressing her hope that her mother will continue to stand up for those who are marginalised and often left out.

“She is someone I love and admire so much, and I told her so many times yesterday how much I love and appreciate her.” This next phase of her life excites me since I know it won’t be idle at all.

“There is no doubt that its priorities will be making a difference and carrying on with its advocacy of the marginalised, voiceless, and helpless.”

She continued by saying that she also hoped to eventually take some well-earned time off for relaxation.

“Daughter filled with gratitude and pride, full of hope for SA.” May peace, unity, progress, and prosperity be bestowed upon our nation and its people.
